| My name is Art Becker I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and studied art with renowned watercolorist Vitus J. Kaiser in the early 1970s.I later studied photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale from 1977 to1979 and started my commercial photography in Fort Lauderdale/Miami area for five years before returning to Erie, Pennsylvania in 1989. Back in Erie,both my commercial and fine art photography have merited over seventy five local and national awards. I have been featured in articles in PEI Photography Magazine, View Camera Magazine and Faith Magazine.My photography has been in Time Magazine, ESPN Magazine, Hallmark Cards, A&E Network, NewYork Times, The Weather Channel, American Express, Random House Publishing,Faith Magazine, Visa Gold,British Airways, and Windham Hill Records My goal has always been to bridge the gap between fine art and commercial photography.I enjoy the work of Vitus J. Kaiser, Barton L. Gilmore, Brad Lethaby, Tom Tucker,Ellen Anon. I live with my wife Kathy our son Daniel and daughter Kristie on the shores of Lake Erie. |
